Educational Qualifications

  • Qualification: Matriculation (10th) or equivalent from recognized Board/University
  • Note: Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the stipulated date will not be eligible

Physical Standards

Candidates shortlisted in CBE will undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) at CAPF centers. Detailed eligibility scrutiny occurs at DME/DV stage.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Ex-Servicemen: Exempted from PET (race), but must appear for height/chest/weight measurements
  • Pregnancy Policy: Female candidates must declare pregnancy status. Pregnant candidates are temporarily unfit and re-examined 6 weeks post-confinement
  • Race Requirements:
    • Male: 5 Kms in 24 minutes
    • Female: 1.6 Kms in 8½ minutes
    • Ladakh Region: Male: 1.6 Kms in 7 minutes, Female: 800 metres in 5 minutes

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Height Requirements

  • Male: 170 cm minimum
  • Female: 157 cm minimum
  • Relaxations:
    • ST candidates: Male: 162.5 cm, Female: 150 cm
    • NE States ST: Male: 157 cm, Female: 147.5 cm
    • LWE affected districts ST: Male: 160 cm, Female: 147.5 cm
    • Gorkha Territorial Administration: Male: 157 cm, Female: 152.5 cm
    • NE States (General): Male: 162.5 cm, Female: 152.5 cm

  • Un-expanded: 80 cm minimum
  • Minimum expansion: 5 cm
  • Relaxations:
    • ST candidates: 76 cm un-expanded, 5 cm expansion

    • NE States & Gorkha: 77 cm un-expanded, 5 cm expansion
  • Note: Female candidates' chest development is visually verified (no measurements taken)

Important Notes

  • Biometric Verification: Required before PET/PST
  • Appeal Process: Available for PST (height/chest) on the same day through Appellate Authority. No appeals for PET (race)
  • Responsibility: PET/PST and Medical Examinations conducted solely by CAPFs. Commission will not entertain representations against their decisions
  • Eligibility Verification: Candidates must verify their eligibility before appearing for tests

  • Photograph: Real-time capture during application (no pre-existing photo needed)
  • Signature: Upload scanned signature (JPEG, 10-20 KB, 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm)
  • Payment: Online payment for applicable fees

Selection Procedure
